Pleasure Beach

This is Pleausre Beach.Once Upon a time it had boardwalks that led to a carousel,a skating rink, rollercoaster, and "The Old Mill" ride, which is basically the tunnel of love, plus lots more. Brickerhoff Ferry would bring people over from a dock downtown and then in 1927, a large bridge was built so that people could walk or drive over. One of the biggest attractions was the pavilion that had a large ballroom and where stars like Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw came to perform. In 1953, a fire damaged some of the rides including the rollercoaster and after some years the amusement park closed. In 1973, the pavilion met the same fate and also burned down. Many people stopped visiting Pleasure Beach, but some peopple still lived there in their seasonal homes. However, those people eventually left as well when the bridge burned down in 1966. Now, its pretty much a ghost town!
